IP. Here and Now.

Evertz is leading the transition to IP with its Software Defined Video Networking (SDVN) IP-based solutions. Evertz has over 80 global SDVN deployments for large scale production, playout, headends and cloud based applications. For NAB 2017, Evertz will expand its SDVN portfolio with the introduction of its range of 25GbE products, support for SMPTE 2110 and NMOS IS-04, and new FPGA accelerated compute blades on the evEDGE platform. Evertz innovative SDVN solutions enable an end-to-end IP based workflow from production to playout to distribution that is unmatched in the industry today. Evertz will also highlight the 5700MSC-IP, an IP-based Grand Master Clock and Video Master Sync Generator ideal for timing IP-based video broadcast, production, and distribution facilities.

Evertz will showcase the Facility 2020 based on the evEDGE™ a Software Defined Compute and Routing platform that meets the needs of smaller facilities looking for a cost effective way to migrate to IP, while enabling larger facilities to expand using a distributed environment. The powerful evEDGE compute blade enables a virtualized environment and provides customers "on-demand" processes to enable elastic and agile workflows.

DreamCatcher Live Media and Production Suite

DreamCatcher is the most robust, scalable, and modern IP-based capture, playout, replay, edit and packaging system in the industry today. This IP- based platform, enhances the production workflow by leveraging MAGNUM and its 10GbE network architecture, and can scale to meet the needs of any production workflow, including 8K capture and replay. The software defined data center (SDDC) architecture is a game-changer for any production facility looking to capitalize on IP and the new opportunities it offers, without the need to replace SDI infrastructure.

Evertz is excited to introduce two new tools to the DreamCatcher platform: DC- LIVE-EDIT and DC-MG. DC-LIVE-EDIT is an advanced video/audio editing tool that will allow for instant craft editing capabilities with render-free publishing. The DC-MG media gateway content management system unlocks the full potential of DreamCatcher networks by utilizing unused processing capacity to complete jobs at unprecedented speeds and transcoding massive amounts of content in a matter of moments.

Big Data Analytics

inSITE, Evertz's big data analytics engine, provides real-time centralized operational intelligence for video broadcasters. This platform offers the unique capability of collecting and aggregating data from all machine data points in a workflow, regardless of device type. Coupled with VistaLINK® and MAGNUM, Evertz delivers a one vendor solution for all monitoring, management, and analytic needs and offers complete broadcast infrastructure transparency to operators. inSITE enables faster, better decision-making and minimized risks along with revealing trends that guide the users towards new development of products and services.

Cloud-based MAM and Playout

Evertz' OvertureRT LIVE VM offers broadcast facilities a cost-effective and scalable playout solution with deployment options that range from video appliances to private and public cloud VMs. The platform is adaptable for current and future Master Control applications and supports SD, HD, 3G and UHD applications providing facilities with an economical path to migrate from baseband infrastructures to IP. Mediator-X Evertz' Media Asset Management (MAM) platform is also cloud enabled and provides media companies with a way of monetizing content while maintaining lower operating costs. Evertz will demonstrate both Mediator-X and OvertureRT LIVE VM as virtualized services to provide cost-effective and secure playout facilities in the cloud. Coupled with Render-X, media companies can deliver linear and non-linear content without the costly physical resources.

UHD and HDR

With global installations, Evertz offers the industry's most comprehensive UltraHD (UHD) and High Dynamic Range HDR) solution set. For applications from acquisition to production to playout, Evertz is the only manufacturer that offers complete solutions in quad-link 3G-SDI, 12G-SDI, and IP, enabling UHD (with HDR) solutions in both new and existing facilities. Evertz will showcase its 12G-SDI products that include 12G-SDI routing, distribution, and conversion.

Evertz' HDR technology can also be applied to 3G/HD-SDI to give more immersive images than standard dynamic range (SDR). Evertz will be highlighting the new SDR to HDR conversion on its 7814UDX product family.

Video Delivery Infrastructure

Evertz' video delivery platform delivers broadcast quality video from any source, through any network, to any device. Evertz multi-format, multi-codec, multi-output solutions offer the most scalable, flexible and innovative video delivery platform for any application. With solutions ranging from modular and high density software defined hardware accelerated platforms to software only server based solutions, Evertz has the highest Video Quality JPEG2000 / H.264 / MPEG-2 / HEVC (H.265) architectures to suit every video delivery need.

For NAB 2017, Evertz will introduce the 570ITXE as a universal on-ramp IP gateway. The 570ITXE is a converged platform capable of receiving/decoding, normalizing and performing multiple encoding (H.264 / JPEG2000) of all uncompressed and compressed streams coming into a facility. Evertz will also highlight its 3482TXE-HEVC software defined accelerated platform that offers multi-standard video (UHD / 3G / HD / SD), multi-codec (HEVC / H.264) encoding at superior quality and in a high-density form factor. Supporting UHD distribution, this High Dynamic Range (HDR) ready encoder provides superior video quality while providing the lowest latency. Evertz video delivery platforms offer complete solutions to contribution, primary/secondary distribution and OTT markets.

RF Solutions

Evertz offers the ability to reach millions of customers with minimal ground infrastructure through their reliable end-to-end RF solutions. Evertz will present their XPRF14 128x128 RF router; the first platform to offer full power, control, and IO redundancy. The XPRF platform is a wideband, non- blocking, full fanout RF router for signals from 850MHz to 2.3GHz including L-Band and other applications. While housed in a compact 14RU chassis, the XPRF14 makes no compromises on features, performance, or reliability. For system requirements above 128x128, multiple units may be combined up to 2048x2048. The XPRF features a large touch display for ease of use, along with on-screen spectrum analyzer, gain monitoring, and video. Control through MAGNUM, VUE, and VistaLINK provide familiarity to operators.

Transport and Remote Production

Evertz will introduce two new media gateways for IP transport: the evRemote (evR) and 3606FR. These products will allow for the easy introduction of remote production capability to venues, rental spaces, and trucks/OB. The evR provides 120Gbps switching capability along with up to twelve (12) JPEG2000 encoders and decoders. The 3606FR allows for simultaneous dark fiber and IP transport for multiple signal formats including video, audio, and serial data. The 3606FR provides flexible routing between inputs and outputs with support of IP encapsulation to 10/40/100GE transport networks. Evertz remote solutions utilize a familiar interface and allow for major cost savings by reducing footprint, setup time, staffing and travel costs, power consumption and by ensuring reusability.
