Field Support Engineer (Virginia)
The primary function is to support Evertz products and customers. This position will be located in the United States (Washington, DC, Northern Virginia & Maryland).Responsibilities:
- Proactively ensure that customers derive maximum benefit from the products and services Evertz Microsystems delivers to them through the management, delivery of technical resources and dissemination of information
- The Field Engineer will engage/prioritize Customer Service staff to resolve customer issues in a timely fashion to ensure focus on customer quality and satisfaction
- Provide scheduled installation, commissioning, training and manage, escalate and strive for satisfactory resolution of customer issues
- Proactively interface via regular support review meetings with customers in the management of technical issues as well as collaborating in planning, implementation of solutions designed around Evertz products
- Proactively communicate with Customer Service and sales staff on the status of key accounts
- Identify opportunities for Evertz to assist customers through expanded services and engage appropriate resources within Evertz to drive those opportunities
- Proactively monitor technical issues at customer sites and make recommendations to reduce the risk/impact of similar future problems. Engage Evertz sales and/or engineering where appropriate
- Maintain and expand working knowledge of current and new solutions and products, as well as their integration and methods of support
- Lead in sharing of best practices with other Customer/Field Service engineers to contribute and enhance the quality and efficiency of customer support
Qualifications
- University or College Education in related field (electrical engineering)
- Experience working in broadcast or multimedia environments
- Flexible to work overtime and travel up to 50%
- Ability to test and qualify multimedia applications and devices
- Working knowledge of Linux & Windows OS
- Attention to detail, organized, and able to work under pressure with good time management skills
- Ability to work independently and with a group
