Remote STB Monitoring
For any type of content provider (cable, satellite, and IPTV), Evertz provides the ability to effectively monitor remote set top boxes (STB) to reduce downtime and costly truck rollouts. Evertz expands the content provider's ability to monitor services leaving its facility but also at remote headend and distribution hubs. Evertz remote monitoring devices allow the content provider to stream (over IP) back to its facility the output of STBs that their subscribers use. This proactive approach to remote monitoring allows content providers to detect video/audio issues that may occur on their services and quickly resolve them and reduce the costly customer service calls.
Evertz provides comprehensive monitoring for these IP streams that come from the remote monitoring device. By using Evertz' MViP-II or the MVP-DEC32-IP-4 input module for Evertz' MVP® Multiviewer, content provider have the ability to monitor for both video and audio errors/faults from the remote devices in addition to the signals leaving the facility. The remote monitoring device can be configured cycle through the STB channel list to provide complete monitor of all services. Evertz' VistaLINK® PRO, a comprehensive network management system, unifies the management and monitoring of the devices.
